In the summer of 1959, the chorus presented a series of concerts of the original music on the grounds of the 18th century Cloister. This music now forms the background for the full-scale musical drama, ‘‘Vorspiel”’, presented each summer at the Cloister. Chorus mem- bers take an active part, PRINCE ... Plain, Meat or Mushroom P. The Spartans opened with a Tremendous 29-point first quarter, while holding Donegal to only 9. Although the Indians looked better in the second and third periods, the basket bombardment opened again in the finale and Garden Spot rammed home 30 points to Donegal’s 12. Interestingly, virtually a third of the winners’ points were scored by one man - Don Sindall, who hit for a big 30 on 14 fielders and a pair of free tosses out of three tries. His effort, alone, was almost the winners’ margin of victory. Dave Schlosser led the Indians with 17 points, to tie his best single-evening total of the season. He had 17 earlier in the week against Annville-Celona. Doug Mueller was the only other Indian to go into double figures, scoring 10, on three buckets and three of four free tries. In the preliminary, the New Holland hosts sent their J.V.’s to a 50-47 win. Donegal was scheduled to play its final game of the season on Tuesday night, Feb. 19, meeting Manheim Central in a game postponed from Feb. 8 because of the weather that night. Indians Clip Annville-Cleona With two of his eight men playing their best offensive games of the season, Coach Emil Swift's Donegal Indians Tuesday night, Feb. 12; won their fourth game of the year and stopped Ann- ville-Cleona, 77-71. Victory came with a catch- up brand of basketball in the fourth quarter, when the Tribe turned on the heat and overcoming a 57-52 deficit. Twenty-five big points were rattled through the nets in the final frame to help keep the visiting Little Dutchman in the Lancaster - Lebanon League's Section II basement with Pequea Valley. At the same time, Donegal moved out of the darkness of the bottom spot. Dave Schlosser led the way to victory, scoring 17 points, topping his previous best (14 three times). Doug Mueller made a big scoring splash, hitting for 16 and for the first time this season breaking into double figures. Earlier he had eight points in three different games. Nate Bridgett had 14 and Kevin Miller, 13. Score by quarters: A-C 19-20-18-14 - 71 Don’l 18-18-16-25 - 77 In the preliminary, Donegal’s J.V.’s won a 64-54 decision. which is an integral part of the program. The chorus has presented numerous concerts and programs of Cloister music in Lancaster, Ephrata, Philadelphia and other areas, over the years since its beginning. The chorus has recorded selections of the Cloister music, and in 1971 a group of Cloister hymns and anthems, arranged by Dr. Getz, were published in a collection by G. Schirmer, Publishers, in New York City. Of special significance was the participation of the chorus in a filmed program concerning Pennsylvania folklore and music televised in West Germany as a part of a series on American music and folklore. In addition to the Cloister music, the group has specialized in other early American music, including folk songs, spirituals, and songs of the Pennsylvania Dutch. Full choral reper- toire, however, ranges from music of early composers to contemporary works. The Chorus presently numbers about 40 members, several of whom have been with the group since its organization. Membership is composed of persons from many walks in life, and various ages. The public is cordially invited. Nursery care will be provided. No woman ever makes a fool of a man; she merely exhibits him.
