That is the information released this week by Ron Hawthorne, library treasurer, who is handling the fund collections. In addition, there are pledges to the library for other funds later this year. Although the goal of $4,600 has been passed and $5,000 is in hand, the library still is accepting gifts * ENGAGEMENTS Lapp- McClurg Mr. and Mrs. George C. McClurg Jr., Mount Joy RI, announce the engagement of their daughter, E.L. McClurg, to John M. Lapp. The bride-elect was graduated from Manheim Central High School and the Mount Joy Vo- Tech School. She is employed by Eternal Family, Leola, as a secretary for Jesus '73. Mr. Lapp is the son of Mrs. Frances Lapp of Gordonville R1. Plans are being made to use the Lancaster Area Refuse Authority facilities. — Received a request from Franklin Zink for certain variances in zoning in connection with a proposed development of Pennsburg Manor, a community of townhouses, on property at Market Avenue and Donegal Springs Road. The proposal was referred to the zoning and planning commission. — Approved the purchase of a painting machine for lining, striping and spraying streets, pavements and parking areas at a cost of $1164, including a supply of paint. Payment will be from federal revenue sharing funds. — Gave permission for pur- chase of up to $50 worth of paint for use at the Florin Fire Hall. This also was a revenue sharing item. — Learned that plans are to sweep borough streets the week of May 14. — Heard a discussion by residents of Donegal Springs road, in the 300 and 400 block concerning an alley between homes on the south side of the street and a development.
