Fryberger, 71, wife of Ray
Fryberger, 416 E. High street,
Maytown, died Sunday, June
7, at 6:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s
hospital, where she was a pa-
tient four weeks
A graduate of the Maytown
high school and West Chester
Normal School, she was a
teacher in the East Donegal
Twp. Schools for many years.
Born in Maytown, a daugh-
ter of the late Richard F and
Elsie Houseal Albright, she
was a member of the May-
town United Church of Christ
where she was active in
church organizations:

town Golden Years Club.
In addition to her husband
she is survived by two daugh-
ters, Jane A. at home; and
Joyce M., wife of Robert M.
Lowy, Penn Hills, Pittsburgh
and one grandson, and one
nephew.
Services were held from
the M. Hawthorn Miller fu-
neral home, Bainbridge, Wed-
nesday afternoon and burial
was made in the Maytown
Union cemetery.

Landisville died Friday night,
June 5, at Landisville hospit-

19 grandchildren and seven
great grandchildren; two sis-
ters, Minnie Dombach, Mill-
ers-ville and Mrs. Leah My-
ers, of Landisville
On the first air mail flight
(1918) with president Wilson
watching, the plane wouldn't

The Women’s Republican
Club’s annual mother-daugh-
ter luncheon will be held at
noon, Wednesday, June 17, at
Meadow Hills Guest speaker
will be Terry Abrams, deputy
state party chairman for pub-
lic information
The luncheon is open to the
public. Reservations should be
made through Mrs. Gordy at
the club headquarters, North
Prince St, by Monday, June
15th.
Former Resident
Wins Scholarship
Christine Durfee, daughter
of the Rev. and Mrs. Harlan
C. Durfee of New Monmouth,
N. J., former residents of Mt.
Joy, has won one of the Na-
tional Presbyterian College
Scholarships which are
awarded to young people
from all sections of the na-
tion.
Winners of the scholarships
have just been announced by
the Presbyterian church in
the U. S. A. The winners, 77
in number, will be entering in
September 29 colleges related
to the denomination’s Board
of Christian Education. The
winners come from 25 states
and all parts of the country.
Chris started to school in
Mount Joy before she moved
to Middletown. She was one
of only two New Jersey stu-
dents to win in this national
competition and will be atten-
ding the College of Wooster
in Ohio in the fall.
Chris is due to graduate
from Middletown Twp. High
School, June 18. Right now
she is in Kansas City, Mo.,

The Mount Joy Jaycees held
their June meeting at the
Cove Tuesday, June 9, from
8 to 10:30 p.m.
Jim Gingrich announced
that nearly 125 seventy-five
year olds and guests will be
present at the annual banquet
Thursday , June 11.
Ron Hawthorne and Joel
Heckert gave reports con-
cerning a headquarters for lo-
cal Jaycee activities. Andy
Reymer, president, has been
working hard toward this
goal since it is difficult to
operate without permanent
meeting and storage space.
Bill Hickock and his com-
mittee made arrangements for
Cove clean-up within the next
week.
