High street, Maytown, died Sunday, June 7, at 6:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s hospital, where she was a pa- tient four weeks A graduate of the Maytown high school and West Chester Normal School, she was a teacher in the East Donegal Twp. Former Resident Wins Scholarship Christine Durfee, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Harlan C. Durfee of New Monmouth, N. J., former residents of Mt. Joy, has won one of the Na- tional Presbyterian College Scholarships which are awarded to young people from all sections of the na- tion. Winners of the scholarships have just been announced by the Presbyterian church in the U. S. A. The winners, 77 in number, will be entering in September 29 colleges related to the denomination’s Board of Christian Education. The winners come from 25 states and all parts of the country. Chris started to school in Mount Joy before she moved to Middletown. She was one of only two New Jersey stu- dents to win in this national competition and will be atten- ding the College of Wooster in Ohio in the fall. Chris is due to graduate from Middletown Twp. High School, June 18.
