Amen.” MAYTOWN NEWS NOTES Miss Grace Henderson The Golden Age Club met last Tuesday with 31 mem- bers present. Mrs. Myrtle Warner and John Buller joined the club at this meet- ing. The program consisted of several readings by Miss Grace Henderson and John Buller showed slides and gave a travel talk on places of interest in Western United States and Pacific North- west. Refreshments were served by the hostsses. The next meeting will be Feb. 17. Mrs. Roy Bixler, Marietta, Rl, Carl Houseal of town Trinity LCW To Hold Meeting The LC.W. of Trinity Lu: theran church, Mount Joy, will have its third general meeting of the year on Wed- nesday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. At this time the women of the church will have on dis- play all kinds of handwork done by the women, such as embroidery, needlepoint, art work, weedcraft stationery, smocking, sewing, rug mak- ing, crocheting, knitting, ceramics, sculpturing and various other forms of hand work. All the women of the church are invited to parti- cipate in this display by bringing in whatever they want to display Monday and Tuesday of that week. Members of Circle I are in charge of refreshments. During the meeting there will be several demonstra- tions of the various works displayed. Anyone having questions about what they want to display should con- tact Mrs. Charles Ruhl or any member of the Educa- tion Committee. Tre regular circle meetings will be held Feb. 9, 10 and 11 and all members are in- vited to attend. Congregation Holds Election The Rev. Donald Moore Whitesel, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal church announced the results of the election of Vestrymen held at the an- nual parish meeting this past Sunday evening. John Binkley, Elizabeth- town, William Lenox, and David Martin of Mount Joy were elected to serve on the Vestry for a period of three The retiring Vestrymen are: David Eler, William Romig, of Elizabethtown. and Char- les Heisey of Maytown. The newly-elected men will be in- stituted at the 10:30 a.m. ser- vice of Morning Prayer on Sunday. Feb. 8. It was announced that dur- ing the first service each Sunday will be at 9:15 am. The change from the earlier hour is made because Father Whitesel serves as Chaplain of the Masonic Homes during that month. Women began smoking cig- arettes after the First World War. Sunday, Jan. 25th at the annual congregational meet- ing at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church the follow- ing were elected to serve on the church council: Jack H. Frank, Mrs. Margaret Landis and Paul Linard. Last Sun- day, they were installed. Oth- er members of the council are Lt. Trobe Barnitz, Miss Dorothy Engle, Ivan Hess, William Howe, James Prow- ell and Lester Shenk. The Rev. Daihl was the guest speaker at the fifth anniversary of the dedication of the new building at his home church at Green Spring last Sunday. The El Shaddai Class of the Church of God met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lindemuth last Tues- day evening: The American Legion Aux- iliary meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Goldie Yordy, Monday evening, Feb. 9 at 8 o'clock. The fire company has been kept busy answering ambul- ance and fire calls. We do have some very faithful vol- unteer firemen.
