J. and will serve his internship at the Brentwood hospital in Cleve- land, Ohio #* %* * The libraries of all the Hempfield School District Elementary Schools are scheduled to be open one morning per week for all school-age children of the district beginning the week of June 30. This new community service innovated by the Hempfield Board of Education recently, will be offered during the July and August months with the schedule hours of 9 am. to noon. On each Wed- nesday morning, the libraries of Mountville, Rohrerstown, Farmdale and Landisville Elementary school library will be open each Saturday morning where interest war- rants a story hour will be conducted along with the lending of books. ; Miss Dawn Marie Burk- hart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin C. Officials re- ported that only three girls entered the contest which was slated for Saturday eve- ning, June 28. * * The annual Salunga Fire Co. auxiliary’s ‘Dime-A-Dip” supper will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 at the Salunga Pavilion. Sandwiches, baked beans, fruit salad, cake, pie etc. will be on the menu. Jim Shank picked the first ripe tomato from his garden on July 3. At the celebrated anniver- June meeting of the Youth Organization the following activities were planned: A “sub” sale for the local foctories July 16. The com- mittee is Mrs. Rupp, Mrs. Haines, Mrs. McLain and Mrs. Embly. July 26—a baseball game at Hiestands under the lights at 8:15 between the Pee Wees and Midget Midgets. A game at 9:30 between the Junior Midgets and the girls’ softball team. Mrs. Pat Haines is in charge of refrehment sales. The annual Churches of God reunion held its 50th anniversary at Hershey park on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs, Hiram May- ers accompanied the Colum- bia Retired Citizens’ Club on a bus trip to Phladelphia last Saturday. The Vacation Bible School closed with an enrollment of 100 children and a staff of 16. After paying all ex- penses there was a balance of $18.06 in the treasury.
