Their son . and his family, Rev and Mrs. Clar- ence D. Ulrich and three children, made a surprise ap- pearance. After Mrs. Eileen Martin sang ‘“‘O Promise Me”, a “Pageant of Brides” was. pre- sented. Kathy Gephart modeled a dress worn by Esther Habec- ker Rohrer, the great-grand- mother of Mrs. Robert Bru- baker, who was married in 1826 and went on a honey- moon to Niagara Falls riding horseback - side saddle. Linda Grissinger wore her great-grandmother’s dress — worn by Mrs. Vesta Grissing- er’s mother in 1879. The ‘“go- ing-away’’ dress of Mrs. John Booth’s mother of 1883 was modeled by Kim Beach. John Booth’s mother’s dress of 1896 was worn by Mrs. Car- ole Musser, Suzanne New- comer wore the dress of Mrs. Robert Brubaker’s mother of the year 1899. The gown of Alice Marie Nissley’s mother worn in 1903 was worn by Mrs. Sarah Martin and the going-away outfit was modeled by Shar- on Stoner. On Easter Sunday, April 15, 1906, Mrs. Daniel Wiil’'s mother wore the dress Mrs. Catherine Brubaker was modeling. Mrs. Paul McMil- lan was married in a blue ‘silk dress in 1925 which she had made herself and it was worn by her daughter, Mrs. Joyce Gibbons. -. The 1930 wedding dress, hat, shoes, gloves ‘and = far piece of Mrs. Herbert Tyn- dall were worn by WNirs. Al- meda Berriér. - Mrs. Erma Buchenauer modeled lier own gown and shoes of 1937. ; Sheryl Haines wore her mother’s dress, hat, bag, and shoes of 1940." Her mother is Mrs.” Karl Haines. Mrs. Helen Leas wore her dress of 1950; In 1952 © Mrs. Jane Beach was married in the gown she modeled. and Mrs. Clarence E. and Mrs. Charles Drace werenarrator the first couple to ke mar- ried in .St. Mark's by Rev. Ulrich. Marlene was escorted by her husband and was wearing her own gown. The same month Mr. and Mrs. Jay Mummau were married by Rev. Ulrich. Both Marilyn and her husband wore their wedding outfits. Mrs. Myrl Sherk wore her own gown of 1956. Mrs. Karen Y. Weaver, one of the 1968 brides, mod- eled her own gown. Mrs. Ruth Balsbaugh was for the program which was arranged by Mrs. Arthur Sprecher and Mis. Clinton Eby. Music through- out the evening was provided by Mrs. Carole Musser, Mrs. Eileen Martin, Jay Sherk, Donald Martin and Mrs. Eli- nor Nickolas. Accompanist was Gerald Miller, Following the pageant, Rev. and Mrs. Ulrich were presented with gifts from the members of the congregation. Refreshments were served following the program. Jr. High Sets Students from the seventh and eighth grades at the W. I. Beahm Junior high school modeled proper and improp- er apparel, according to the revised dress code, at an as- sembly Friday afternoon, Sept. 20. Brenda Wolgemuth, an eighth grade Student Council representative, emceed the show. Using the theme ‘“Head-of- the Class Wear’, Mrs. Mar- garet Brown, home economics teacher at W. 1. Beahm, des- cribed the junior high girls’ outfits. Walter Price, geogra- phy teacher, explained the boys’ attire. Some of the new dress code requirements are: Boys must wear shirt tails inside slacks unless the shirt is a sweater-type with an elastic waist band, and belts must be worn with all slacks that re- Dress Code quire belts. Girls skirts must be no shorter than four inches a- bove the knee when sitting, and no eye make-up may be used. Sandals and tightly pegged-pants are also prohib- ited. Models for the show were: Jean Shearer, an eighth grad- er, GeorgAnne Jenkins, also an eighth grader, Melva Flowers, a seventh grader, Pat Morton and Brenda Wol- gemuth, both eighth graders, and Crystal Ginder, a seventh grader. Boy models were: Thomas Wivell, Richard Connelly, Bill Sutter, and Bill Yohe, all eighth graders, and Jim Mohr and Ken Musser, both of the seventh grade.
