WEDNESDAY, MAY 1, 1968 e Deaths BERNICE M. ARNOLD Bernice M. Arnoid, 49, of Mount Joy R2, died unex- pectedly attending a wed- ding shower at the home of Miss Thelma Miller, Eliza- bethtown R1. Dr. Milton 8S. Good of Elizabethtown said death was due to a heart at- tack and that she had been under the care of a physician for several years. She was the wife of Stan- ley Ray Arnold. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Mabel Gross- man Miller. The Arnolds have resided in the Mount Joy area since 1959 and in Lancaster prior to that time. Mrs. Arnold had been a bookbinder for the Continen- tal Press Co. of Elizabeth- town for the past seven years. Prior to that, she was employed at the Business Press and the Lancaster Press, -both of Lancaster. She was a member of the Chiques United Methodist church. In addition to her husband, at home, she is survived by a daughter, Linda R., at home, two brothers, John M. Miller Jr., New Holland, and Kenneth W. Miller, Lititz. and a sister, Shirley ‘M., wife of John M. Kreider, Charlot- te, North Carolina. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Groff funeral home in Lan- caster and burial was made in Riverview Park. MABEL G. GINDER Mrs. Mabel G. Ginder, 80, formerly of Mount Joy R2, died Friday, April 26 in the Elm Dale Rest Home, Lititz R2, following a lengthy ill- ness. She was the wife of the late Phares S. Ginder. She was born in Mount Joy Twp., a daughter of the late Amos and Salinda Good Griner. She was a member of Ris- ser’s Mennonite Church, of Elizabethtown. Surviving are three sons. Victor and Ralph, Mount Joy R2, and Roy, Manheim R4; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Beulah G. Griner, Mt. Joy R2. Funeral services were held from the Miller funeral home in Elizabethtown, Monday and the Risser’s Mennonite church. Delegates from 14 area schools attended the eighth annual High School Press Conference recently at Mil- lersville State College. Among the schools attend- ing were Hempfield Union High Schocl. The journalists were treat- ed to campus tours, panel discussions and a reception. Three youths were pre- sented God and Country a- wards at a special service recently in St. Pauls Evan- gelical United Brethren Church. The awards were presented by the Rev. Harry J. J. Hemmelberger, pastor. Recipients were Michael Schlossman, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schloss- man. He is a member of the Youth Fellowship of St. { Pauls EUB Church. and is a member of the Ponderosa campers club of Mountville. Main St, Mountville. He is now serv- ing with the U. S. Air Force in Duluth, Minn. The award was received by his parents. The Hempfield Sertoma Club met on Wednesday evening April 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mt. Joy Amer- ican Legion Post Home.
