It was pointed out that the borough has $31,000 in its budget for streets this year. No action was taken but the matter was directed to the street commitee for study. Tony Black, appearing for the R&H Development cor- poration, offered the borough a two-acre park area in the Westview development on Donegal Springs road. The tract, located south of Done- gal Springs road and east of a line extended southward from Chocolate avenue, is “low” and is an area which water in the area collects and finally seeps away under ground. No action was taken. As well as create a park, the R & H corporation seeks a change in the lot plot in the area to satisfy F.H.A. and V.A. house loan require- ments. Council passed and order- ed published a new disord- erly conduct ordinance which was called “more enforce- able” than the borough’s pres- ent similar regulations. Both Florin and Friensship Fire companies gave 1967 year-end reports. Friendship answered 50 calls and was in service 60 hours. Florin ans- wered 31 calls and was in service 411% hours. Friendship was not called during the entire month of December, Chief John Myers reported. ACCURACY Atomic clocks are so ac- curate that they will lose or gain only one second in 15 years. The old theory is that dur- ing Leap Year the gals can pick out the fellows they want — and can do the pro- posing. Just how this differs from any other year is some- thing they failed to explain. The person who talks all the time has nothing to say.
