Newark Bible Presbyter-
ian Church, Newark, Del,
was the setting for the mar-
riage of Miss Sandra Faith
Curtis, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. C, A. Curtis, 18 Ander-
son Rd., Todd Estates, New-
ark, to M. Richard Peters, of
140 S. River St., Maytown,
Saturday, April 4, at 1:30 p.
m.
The Rev. Dr. William Bow-
en officiated. Mr. Curtis gave
his daughter in marriage.
Miss Bonnie McLeod, New-
ark, was maid of honor. The
bridesmaids were Miss Nancy
Pryor, Wilmington, Del., and
Miss Elaine Baird, Newark,
James Peters, Maytown, serv-
ed as best man for his broth-
er. Ushers were Wm, Baugh-
man Jr., cousin of the bride-
groom, Moun Joy, and John
Curtis, brother of the bride,
Newark. Mrs. Paul Shelly
was organist and Mrs. James

The reception was held in
the church educational build-
ing. After a wedding trip, the
couple will reside at Mount

The bridegroom was gradu-
ated from Donegal H. S. in
1962 and is employed in the
accounting department of
Howe Sound Aluminum Co.
DISSINGER — RESSLER
The marriage of Miss Bon-
ita Mae Ressler, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ressler,
37 East Main St., Mountville,
to Barry Eugene Dissinger,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron
G. Dissinger, 251 Main St.,
took place in Salome E.U.B.
church, Columbia, Saturday
at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Harry J. P. Him-
melberger officiated. Mr. Res-
sler gave his daughter in mar-
riage.
The bride, a graduate of
Hempfield high school in ’61,
attended Lancaster General
Hospital School of Nursing
and graduated from Lancast-
er School of Practical Nurs-
ing in 1963, She is a licensed

practical nurse "at St. Josephs
Hospital.
The bridegroom was grad-
uated from Hempfield High
School in 1956 nd is employ-
ed as a plumber by Harry A.
Ressler.

CLARENCE E. DAVIES
Funeral services were held
April 7, for Clarence E. Dav-
ies Jr., nineteen, Florin Ward,
who was killed when his car




crashed into a tree early
Saturday morning.
Police said Davies was
seen by a friend in Elizabeth-
town shortly before the acci-
dent which occurred at 2:30
a.m. He was believed enroute
to his home from Elizabeth-
town when the crash occur-

Bruce Kline said Davies’ au-
to was “definitely traveling
at an excessive rate of speed’
when it hit a tree in the
Florin ward. Kline said skid
marks showed the car cross-
ed from the east-bound to the
westbound lane of Route
230 and then back again be-
fore it crashed into the tree,
just east of the Cities Service
station.
Police said skid marks ex-
tended for 150 feet. The 1952
car was demolished.
Davies was employed as a
punch press operator at the
New Standard Corp., Mount
Joy.
He was born in Lancaster,
a son of Clarence and Dor-
othy Yost Davies Sr., of Fal-
mouth. He resided in Mount
Joy for a year and a half.
Besides his wife, he is sur-
vived by a son, Steven Char-
les; a brother, Jacob, of Fal-
mouth; three sisters, Dorothy,
wife of Gilbert Wagner, of
Bainbridge; Emma Jean, wife
of Wilbur Kline, Mount Joy,
and Miss Barbara Davies, of
Falmouth.
Funeral services were held
from the Sheetz funeral home
Tuesday afternoon and burial
was made in the Mount Joy
cemetery.
MARY FRANCES ZELLER
Mrs. Mary Frances Zeller,
66, widow of George B. Zel-
ler, 207 Birchland Avenue,
died Thursday, April 2, at 10
p.m. in St. Joseph’s Hospital
after a brief illness.
Her husband died in 1952.
Born in Mount Joy, a daugn-
ter of the late Christian J.
and Catharine Fissel Gillums,
she was a member of St.
Luke’s Episcopal church,
Mount Joy.
Surviving are two children,
James R., Newark, Bel.; and
Catharine G., head of the
Donegal high school English
Department, at home; two
grandchildren and these sis-
ters and brothers, Elwood T.
Gillums, Lancaster; Christine,
wife of Paris Gruber, Samuel
C. F. Gillums, and Mrs. Vio-
let Foster, all of Mount Joy.
Funeral services were held
at the convenience of the fa-
mily in charge of the Sheetz
funeral home. Burial was
made in the Eberle cemetery.
MARTHA S. ESHLEMAN
Mrs. Martha S. Eshleman,
69, wife of Walter L. Eshle-
man, 321 West Donegal St.,
died at the Lancaster Gener-
al Hospital Saturday, April
4, at 2:30 p.m. She had been
ill for several years.
Born in Rapho Twp., she
was the daughter of the late
William H. and Mary Kray-
bill Strickler. She and her
husband would have celebrat-
ed their 50th wedding anni-
versary this year. She had
been a resident of Mount Joy
since her marriage.

she was also a charter mem-
’|ber of the Mount Joy Ameri-
can Legion Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, she
is survived by one son, Rob-
ert S., Mount Joy; two grand-
sons, a great-grandson and
these brothers and sisters: P.
Kraybill Strickler; Mrs. Fan-
nie Myers; Laura M., wife of
Rev. Frank Witmer; and
Nora V., wife of Charles Eby
all of Mount Joy; Warren K,,
Elizabethtown; Elva K., wife
of Robert L. Stevenson, of
Wynnewood; and Mrs. Mary
Barto, Wyncote.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday afternoon from the
Nissley funeral home and
burial was made in Mount
Joy cemetery.
LUDWIG BLANZ
Ludwig “Dutch Louie”
Blanz, 73, Mount Joy RI,
near Donegal Springs, died
unexpectedly Friday, April 3.
Blanz was rolling the rear
lawn at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Wilbur I. Beahm, .on
Donegal Springs Road, when
he collapsed. Dr. Thomas O’-
Connor, Mount Joy deputy
coroner, said death was due
to a heart attack.
Blanz formerly resided in
Mount Joy until about fifteen
years ago. Since then he has
been residing alone on a farm
now owned by Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Ober, Mount Joy R1.
He was a laborer by occu-
pation, doing odd jobs
throughout the Mount Joy
area.
There are no known survi-
Vors.
Funeral rites were held on
Wednesday afternoon from
the Heilig funeral home. Bur-
ial was made in the Mount
Joy cemetery.
WILLIAM COWELL
A message was received in
Mount Joy last week that
William Cowell, who forms-
erly lived in this community,
died Thursday, April 2, in a
Harrisburg hospital, where he
had been since 1932.
He was buried at Harris-
burg.
