Goddard | has issued a directive stating the department will no long-! er require motorboat owners to secure launching permits to use their craft on state | park waters where such boats | are allowed. All boats, including those in other categories, must still comply with all other state park rules and regulations, Goddard emphasized. Under provisions of the] Motor Boat law passed last | year, all motor boats are re- quired to display a registra- tion number issued by the State Dept. of Revenue. Goddard said owners of all other craft—canoes, sailboats row boats, etc.—must still ob- tain launching permits at the KEEP NUT QUALITY .Nuts in the shell keep longer than shelled nuts, and whole nutmeats keep longer than chopped ones, reminds Louise Hamilton, Penn State exten- sion food specialist. Also un- salted nutmeats stay good longer than salted ones. Put shelled nuts in tightly cover- ed containers or aluminum foil wrapping and store in a cool place. Nutmeats pick up odors and flavors of other foods. Pennsylvania is the only state with direct outlets to the Atlantic, Great Lakes and the Mississippi river. R88 ONLY LLOYD. H.
