Mrs. Harry Jennings and
children Betsy, Patsy and
Bob, of Gary, Indiana, have
returned home after a visit
in Mount Joy with her moth-
er, Mrs. Reuben Fellenbaum,
south Market street, and oth-
er relatives. While here,
they spent one day in Phila-
delphia, touring historic
spots and shopping. Mr. Jen-
nings joined them for four
days here, and the family re-
turned home together.

ies on the route.
Gives Assist
Small Barn Burns;
Firemen had a two-fire
day on Tuesday when they
responded to a call for an
assist at a barn fire and to
extinguish a blaze in a car.
An alarm at 10:55 took
Friendship company to the
residence of Myrl Jeffries, on
Manheim R4, to assist Mas-
tersonville company. Man-
heim also responded.
A small barn, approximate-
ly 40x40, was lost along with
a 1950 car and some farm
machinery. The company
was in service for about 32
hours.
At 4:45 p.m. firemen were
called to the Fargo service
station on west Main street,
where an auto was afire. The
car belonged to William
Sheagley, Square street, and
was a total loss of approxi-
mately $450.

It took two cars and Dr.
Elvin’s trailer to do the job.
The party went down near
Caledonia park along the Ap-
palachian Trail and parked
the trailer. A car took the
hikers 10 miles one way and
headed them back toward the
| trailer. That was the first
|day’s hike. That night the
| party spent at the trailer and
[next day the hikers moved on
10 more miles. There they
were met by a car and re-
turned to camp.
