Prosecuted On
Five Charges
A Mount Joy man was
prosecuted on five counts of
ignoring stop signs and one
count of too fast for condi-
tions by Lancaster city police
Sunday, July 14 but officers
said he was not driving his
car when the violations oc-
curred.
Officer Calvin Duncan said
Cecil McCowin, Mount Joy,
was the owner of a car,
which he chased for some
distance last Tuesday night,
July 9.
Duncan said he came upon
McCowin’s car, loaded with
teenagers, about midnight
he was going home from his
shift. Because it was after
the city curfew time, Duncan
said he was going to check
the ages of the occupants.

as
When he approached the
vehicle, Duncan said the dri-
ver sped away and he gave
chase. He said the car nar-
rowly missed collisions with
other cars. He took the Ii-
cense number and halted the
chase to prevent an accident.
