Maytown had approxi mately 70 children enrolled m—" Rotarians Hear Of Puerto Rico Paul Belser of Elizabeth- town, an executive of AMP at the home office in Harris- burg and formerly manager of the Mount Joy plant, was the speaker Tuesday noon at the weekly luncheon meeting of the Rotary club. Recently he spent some time in Puerto Rico on as- signment with his company. Drawing from that experi- ence and showing colored slides, Belser talked and showed scenes of interest in the island area. The program was arranged by John G. Hart, Rotary vice president, and the speaker was introduced by B. Titus Rutt. B Prosecuted On Five Charges A Mount Joy man was prosecuted on five counts of ignoring stop signs and one count of too fast for condi- tions by Lancaster city police Sunday, July 14 but officers said he was not driving his car when the violations oc- curred. Officer Calvin Duncan said Cecil McCowin, Mount Joy, was the owner of a car, which he chased for some distance last Tuesday night, July 9. Duncan said he came upon McCowin’s car, loaded with teenagers, about midnight he was going home from his shift. Because it was after the city curfew time, Duncan said he was going to check the ages of the occupants. as When he approached the vehicle, Duncan said the dri- ver sped away and he gave chase. He said the car nar- rowly missed collisions with other cars. He took the Ii- cense number and halted the chase to prevent an accident.
