MAYTOWN Town Will Have a Community Christmas Tree Using part of the funds raised at the very successful Sample Fair held last Saturday, the Maytown Civic Association this week will I begin the erection of a community | Christmas tree in the public square. A program of carol singing is being arranged for the Yule sea- son. One afternoon will be devo- Ited to children. The choirs of the {various local churches will unite | for the singing of familiar Xmas songs. Last year a tree 30 feet tall was erected and lighted. A tree similar and possibly larger iwill be placed this year and the community program will be expan- ded. While the returns from the fair have not been completely tabulat- ed, it was indicated yesterday that between $200 and $300 will be realized. This money makes up a community fund to keep the square improved and to care for the town pump upon which many citizens depend for their water supplies. More than 600 people attended the fair in the High school when 20,600 samples were given away, 10,000 by the committee and 10,- 000 by exhibitors.
