The cost would be $1,600 less without the gas attachments. The dis- trict will be reimbursed for the $1,600 difference. The contract is in the amount of $895.15 per month for the five school pick-up during school months, compared with $739.75 per month last year. United Disposal had last year’s contract also. The annual increase of trash removal is $1,554. Cost for the summer months will remain the same at $50 for a set amount of refuse plus $2.00 for every cubic yard over that. The Building, Mainten- ance and Finance committee will listen to a representa- tive from Lebanon Valley Timerland, Lebanon, on the development of the Gov. Dick area. Development requires the assistance of a registered, recognized for- ester. The Lebanon Valley Representative has been invited to a December 11 committee meeting. The committee will also meet with members of the Grandview PTG at that meeting. The group is interested in closing the walk-ways at the school. The board received a thank-you note from PTG representa- tive Linda Reischer for allowing the group to speak to the board last month. The district has reached an agreement with the Marietta Jaycees’s to utilize the Jaycee gym for junior high school girls’ basketball practices at a total cost of $400. There is not space available in any of the district gyms. Practice runs from November 3, 1980, to mid-February. It was announced that dental insurance benefits will be extended to district administrative staff and other district support staff, including full-time sec- retaries, aides, cafeteria staff and non-unit custodial staff. The district will con- tribute $100 to ‘‘Area O”’ Special Olympics Com- mittee to help sponsor the special education Olympics held each spring. ‘‘Area O”’ includes Lancaster, Lebanon and Berks counties. The district will also contribute $246 to the North Museum in Lancaster. In personnel matters, the board hired Mrs. Hariette Ney, Mount Joy, as a basketball cheerleader ad- visor, Mrs. Janet Breault, Mount Joy, as wrestling cheerleader advisor, and Mrs. Don Yingst as junior high school cheerleader advisor for basketball. The employees are not school personnel and will not serve as coaches. The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 15.
