Canal House, located at 264 West Front Street, is the home of Keith and Jody Miles and their son. The original portion of this frame structure dates from the early 1800's and shows evidence of having been built by or for Joseph Anderson, son of the co-founder of Marietta. A summer kitchen with brick floor was added in the late 19th century. Interesting reproductions of period wall stenciling are an unusual feature of the house, which has been carefully restored to reflect the eloquent simplicity of an earlier time. The Johannsen House is located at 216 West Front Street. This charming early 19th century residence is presently two townhouses occupied by Larry Gibble and Rosemary Patterson.
