The church school staff was installed during the regular morning church service, and the sermon focused on the importance of Christian education. Promotion certificates were presented to students moving up to a new class. PP&L users set record Preliminary figures in- dicate that a new summer electric use peak was set the day of September 2 by Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. customers as meters registered 3,945,000 kilo- watt-hours between 1 and 2 pm. The new peak is attribut- able to the continued hot weather and resulting high- er-than-normal use of air conditioners, according to William Scheffley, PP&L'’s manager of System Opera- tion. PP&L had set previous summer peaks of 3,767,000 kwh on July 16 and 3,905,000 kwh on July 21 of this year. They have just completed taping in Park City, Utah, a TV special with Burl Ives and Lynn-Holly Johnson to be aired nationally next winter.
