After arriving in the U.S., Ha Tieu Diem decided to be known as Christina Ho in order to express her apprec- iation to God for helping her through the difficulties of leaving Vietnam. The story did not end with Christina’s arrival in the U.S., however. On July S Timothy and Christina were united in marriage at St. Mark’s United Methedist Church, 29 East Main Street, Mount Joy. Among the attendants in the wedding party was Elaine Vu, the first baby born at the Indiantown Gap resettlement center in $975. The friends Tim made at the “Gap” in 1975 were eager to welcome a fellow emi- grant to a new land. Timothy and Christina’s five long years of waiting and hoping, aided by the efforts of the Red Cross casework- ers, paid off. Donato Mr. Donato, new junior high school math teacher, is replacing Mr. Hubert Peters who retired. He is a graduate of Millersville State College and Hemp- field High School and has been taking graduate work at West Chester State College. Mr. Donato, who is married, has been teaching at Pottstown Junior High School since Junuary 1979. Mrs. Linda F. Kinzer Mrs. Kinzer comes to Donegal as a high school English teacher. She is a graduate of Longwood Col- lege, VA, with a B.A. in English. She also has her M.S. degree in Guidance from Old Dominion Univer- sity, VA. She spent the past A standard, multi-media first aid course was held at the Pioneer Fire Company in Marietta September 2 and 3, 6 to 10 each night. 24 people took the course, including 17 from Marietta, one from Columbia, two from Maytown, and four from Mount Joy. Included were 12 firemen from Marietta’s Pioneer Fire Co. who were supplimenting their fire fighting training with the first aid course. New/used item rummage sale at United Church of Christ The Women’s Guild of the United Church of Christ, #3 Waterford Avenue, Mariet- ta, will sponsor a rummage sale of new and used clothing in the Social Hall of the Church Friday and Saturday, September 12 and am to 6 pm and Saturday times are 9 am until noon. Jean Prescott and Patricia Kunkle are co-chairpersons of the benefit. 13. Friday hours will be 9 September 10, 1980 nine years teaching Enlish in Oscar Smith High School, Chesapeake, VA. Mrs. Kin- zer moved to the Lancaster area this past June when she was married. Mr. Reid Lauderman Mr. Lauderman is one of the new math teachers at the high school. He received his Bachelor’s degree in math education from Mil- lersville State College and his M.A. in theology from Oliver Nazarene College, Ill. Mr. Lauderman is a grad- uate of Warwick High School where he played baseball, football and bas- ketball. He spent the last year as a pastor of a church in the Lehighton, PA, area. The father of one child is currently residing in Lititz. Mr. William Chase Mr. Chase is also at the high school. He teaches social studies, having ob- tained his degree from Indiana University of PA. Mr. Chase is serving as an assistant football coach in the high school this year. He participated in college foot- ball and high school football and wrestling.
