Did You Hear? Winners of the 1980-81 Elizabethtown Kiwanis Gol- den Anniversary Scholar- ships at Elizabethtown Col- lege are Richard P. Moyer, a freshman, and Melody Lib- hart, a senior at Elizabeth- town Area High School. Moyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walton Z. Moyer, Elizabethtown R1, is a repeat recipient of the scholarship. He initially was awarded the Kiwanis Schol- arship for the 1979-80 college year. He is majoring in religion and philosophy at Elizabethtown College. Miss Libhart, 400 Cherry St., Elizabethtown, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Burnell Libhart. Winners were chosen by the scholarship committee of the Elizabethtown Kiwa- nis Club based upon scholastic ability, citizen- ship and financial need. The scholarship pays one-fourth of the year’s tuition at Elizabethtown. §§§ Senior Airman Brian D. -Koser, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy M. Koser of Bain- bridge, Pa., is participating in GALLANT EAGLE ’80, a large scale joint readiness exercise being conducted by the United States Readiness Command at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Airman Koser is an aerospace ground equip- ment mechanic with the 1st Tactical Fighter Wing sta- tioned at Langley Air Force Base, Texas. The airman is a 1976 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School. §§§ Philip K. Good of Mount Joy, a junior at Juniata College, has been named to the Dean’s List for the recently completed winter term. Good was one of 81 students so honored. The Dean’s List recognizes grade point averages of at least 3.6 out of a possible 4.0, and less than seven percent of Juniata’s stu- dents earned recognition this winter. A pre-medicine major, Good is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell L. Good, Jr., of 626 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy. He is a 1977 graduate of Donegal High School. CRE REE E EE Stars & Stripes Forever is theme of Children’s Fair Stars and Stripes Forever, is the theme for the annual Children’s Fair, sponsored by the Marietta Recreation Association on Saturday, June 14, at Marietta Memorial Park. The theme has been established since the event will be held on Flag Day and because of the World situation. ‘‘It seemed patri- otic to salute our flag of freedom, and at the same time renew our faith in our country,’”’ stated one of the committee members. Chairperson of the Fair will be Flavia Ebersole. Co- chairpersons of the parade will be Karen Roberts and Claudia Sload. The parade will be held on Market St., forming at the square. Vickie Carroll and Sue Clark will supervise the Baby Contest. Parents hop- ing to enter their child must submit a S x 7 portrait with information on the back which includes the child’s name, age, address, parents names and phone number. Deadline for registration will be May 1st and persons hoping to enter a child may call the chairperson at 426-2268 after SPM. The children may not be over their fourth birthday. Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up plus all who are entered will receive a gift. A poster contest will be conducted in the area schools for children up to sixth grade. The entries must be related to the theme of the benefit and they will be judged according to nursery/ pre-school, kinder- garten, primary and inter- mediate categories. Vickie Carroll will serve as chair- person of the poster contest. All merchants who contri- bute to the Fair in any way will have their name of business placed on a float to be entered in the parade and at the Fair. Volunteers are still need- ed to assist with the community project which underwrites the cost of operation of supervised summer playground activi- ties at Memorial Park.
