Brian is the son of William and Kay Edye, 111 North Barbara Street. He has two younger sisters and one younger brother. Brian feels he is a pretty good crossing guard. He said he felt good about the job that he was doing. Math is Brian’s favorite subject in school, along with art. When asked what he wanted to do when he grew up, Brian said ‘‘that’s pretty far away right now. I don’t believe I want to think about that yet.”’ [continued from back page] machine, which would cost between $300 and $400. This request will go to the athletic council. In further action, the board accepted the bid of United Disposal, Elizabeth- town, for the removal of refuse. United Disposal made the only bid. Cost will be $739.75 per month from Jan. through June and Sept. through Dec. Anything over the set amount will cost $2 per cubic yard. Refuse will be picked up at the high school only during the months of July and August, at a cost of $50 per month. The board decided to retain Educators Mutual Insurance Company for major medical and hospital and life insurance in the district. Based on quotes submitted by several inter- ested companies, it was decided that Educators Mutual was very competi- tive. There are still problems with water at the high school track. It was decided to have some drainage work done to the area. Repairs will be made to the stage light wiring at the Maytown school. It was brought to the attention of the board that there are some problems surrounding last year’s graduation date. The sen- iors were counted as attending school 180 days, when they really graduated at the close of the 179th day. This early graduation was due to a closing for the TMI incident. The state did not make a decision concerning TMI until sometime in May, and it was felt unfair to change the day of gradua- tion at such a late date. School board (cont.)
