More than $12 billion dollars in grants, loans, and scholarships will be given out next year. The guidance department at Donegal High School will hold a meeting for senior and junior students and their parents to discuss financial aid. It will start at 7:30pm on Dec. Sth in the DHS cafeteria. Pertinent materials and financial aid forms will be available. Concerning the high school roofing problems, it was explained that the Heidler Roofing Company is making a $2,970 settlement for ceiling damages. The district still owes $3,000 to the company which was withheld because of the damage. In additional business, the board received a letter of intention to retire from Hubert K. Peters, assistant to the principal, Math Department coordinator and teacher in the junior high school. Mr. Peters is completing his 33rd year of service with the district. He was a teacher and a coach at Marietta High School prior to the formation of the first Donegal jointure. He was also the first Donegal High School football coach. Mrs. Judith K. Overland- er, a fourth grade teacher at Riverview, requested mater- J. Robert Flanagan, Jr. wishes to thank his supporters in the recent election School board discusses roofing, hears Price propose town meeting nity leave, to be effective from January 2, 1980 to March 31, 1980. Walter Price suggested the idea of a town meeting to the board. This would be a meeting for board members, administrators, faculty and parents to meet and share their concerns. Price felt this would create greater communication be- tween the various factions of the school district. Zelda Heisey supported this proposal, saying that in an informal survey she found that 95% of those asked did not know our school board members. In regard to the bus schedules, two women expressed concern over a consistantly late bus. Their children were not getting to Riverview for the beginning of classes. The matter will be looked into. for their encouragement in his candidacy for Constable of the Borough of Marietta
