Beginning Monday, No- vember S and continuing through Monday, December J. handing the bus driver a tov. when boarding the bus will net a free ride equal to the base fare of 4S cents for anyone traveling in the base zone (Lancaster City). Passengers traveling out- side the base zone will pay zone charges only. The **Toy-fare exchange is RRTA’s way of participat- ing in the annual Toys For Tots Program sponsored by the Lancaster Boys’ Club. The project involves collect- ing. repairing, and redistri- buting toys to local children during the Christmas sca- son. Toys donated on board RRTA buses should be small and in good condition. Tovs that arc large in size or number may be brought directly to the RRTA office located at 4S Erick Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601. Leisure Club meets with 116 at Hostetters The Mount Joy Areca Leisure Club held its monthly meeting recently at Hostetter's with 116 mem- bers and guests present. The activities for the day began with cake and coffee being served with the invo- ation by Arthur Braun. Following the refreshments, President Joe Shaeffer brought the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Teresa Heisey presented the secretary's report and Al- meda Hostetter the treasur- er's report. Elizabeth Has- singer of the “Sunshine Committee reported eleven cards sent to shut-ins. President Shaeffer an- nounced that on each table was a sheet of paper and those who signed the papers, would be asked to pay for the Christmas dinner which will be held Decem- ber § at Hostetter's begin- ning at 6:00 P.M. President Shaeffer announced papers would be passed listing some bus trips planned for November and December, but there were not enough signatures on the papers, so the trips were cancelled. The birthday and anniver- sary songs were sung and four new members were introduced, Mr. and Mrs. Irid Grove, Elizabeth Ruh] and Nora Kern. Two guests were also introduced, Esther Baker and Joanna Laughman. Several other minor items of business were discussed. At the August meeting a number of members participated in a hobby and craft show, telling the members all about their hobby or their craft. It was such a delightful program that the November 12 meeting, other members will discuss their hobbies and crafts. The November 12 meet- ing will begin at 12:00 noon and the men will do the serving. President Shaeffer appointed the following to serve on a nominating committee, Chairman Jay Sherk, Dorothy Sherk, War- ren Bentzel and Ralph Berrier. Greeters for the November meeting are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Berrier. President Shaeffer adjourn- ed the meeting and intro- duced the program for the day. The best way to describe the program would be to say she was a hat lady, for Mrs. Lillian Kauffman, with a wide variety of hats, wigs and faces presented a very delightful and enter- taining program, enjoyed by everyone present.
