Donegal The Donegal Board last week voted to increase by three cents a mile the Johnson Bus Service rates. The increase in rates was requested by Mr. Robert E. Johnson, president of the Johnson Bus Service, be- cause of the inflated gas prices. This increase will be paid until there is a change in the state formula index to allow for the inflated gasoline prices. State action is expected to take place in the near future. If the state formula permits a greater increase in the rates, Johnson Bus Service will be paid the difference retro- actively. The nine new teachers joining the Donegal District this year were invited to attend the meeting. Those who attended were in- troduced to the Board by Mr. Hallgren, district super- intendent. Mr. Erikson wants his daughter to attend Elizabethtown, because of their Vo-Ag course. The Board denied the request because the student is in 7th grade and they do not feel that anyone below the high school level needs such a program. Mr. Erikson is the new Vo-Ag teacher at Elizabeth- town. The Board, in other business, approved a con- tribution of $265 to the North Museum in Lan- caster. Dick, and sell it for firewood The proceeds would be used to purchase a planer for the high school shop. The planer would cost between $3000 and $5000. The cost, including installation, is $3,495. Permission to prepare and adverise specifications for sidewalk and curbing repair in front of the junior high school was granted.
