Embroiderer’s Guild The Red Rose Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Inc. is sponsoring a Mid-Atlantic Regional Needlework Exhibit at Old Town Lancaster from Sept. 1S through Sept. 29. The show is open to all current members of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. Because it is a juried show, each piece entered will be judged on its own merits, there will be no competition and no prizes awarded. Visitors to the show will be asked to ballot on ‘popular choice’’ and a token award will be made on the last day. This will be purely for the purpose of having the visitors feel a part of the show. Exhibition hours will be 10 to 4PM. on Monday through Saturday, and Sunday from 12 to SPM. Admission fees will be $1 for adults and SO cents for ages 6-17. Admission fee will be waived only for those members presenting current EGA membership cards. All photography is prohibited. All entries must be executed with a single eye needle, either hand held or machine operated for ma- chine embroidery only. Techniques will include canvas work, crewel, crea- tive stitchery, metal and silk threads, pulled thread, needleweaving, applique/ quilting, mixed media and blackwork. For further information call Emma V. Horne, 424 E. Bainbridge St., -Elizabeth- town, Pa. 17022. Phone 367-6406. Mr. Joel Sater, publisher of Antique and Auction News, will present a lecture and slide series entitled, ‘“‘Antiques in America.” This program will cover five periods important to today’s antique collector from the Pilgrim era through World War II. The program will run November S, 12, and 19 (Mondays) from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Middle School Arena. As an educational exper- ience, parents are invited to register with their tots for a Parent-Tot trip to the Stras- burg Railroad and Museum on Tuesday, Oct. 2nd. The bus will leave various locations in Bainbridge, Rheems, and E-town be- tween 11:30 and 11:45 and will return around 3:00. To register contact the Elizabethtown Area Recrea- tion Commission at 367-0335 or drop by the Rec. office located in the E-town Area Middle School. Other activities being sponsored by the Commis- sion are: disco lessons, interior decorating, paint- ing, flag football, volleyball, weightlifting, basketball, and open gym.
