Chester Wittell records
argument between
human brain, computer
by Chester Wittell [just for a laugh]
One day an argument arose
Between two things, both friends and foes,
Concerning which one was astuter;
Homo Sapiens or computer.
Computer said: “Your skull’s too small.
The fact is it won’t do at all.
See how big my cranium is;
For instant figuring I'm a whiz.
Truth is, my friend, I'm smart; you're dumb.
I can figure any sum
Or problem in arithmetic
Quicker than you can point a stick.
“You're too slow; your MO’s phoney;
Brain too wrinkled; head too bony.
Look at me: I'm-in fine fettle—
A super-brain encased in metal.”
Man thought a while then raised his head.
“You may be right, my friend,’’ he said.
‘But if your argument is true,
Why must I tell you what to do?”’
