Zimmerman of 4457 Miller Drive, Route 3, Mount Joy, Pa., has reported for duty with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 122, based at Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Va. A 1978 graduate of Hempfield High School, " Landisville, Pa., he joined the Navy in October 1978. §§§ Marine Major Thomas D. Stouffer, whose wife, Dean- na, is the daughter of Mrs. R.D. Walker of 121 E. Main St., Mount Joy, Pa., has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal. He was cited for meritori- ous service from February 1978 to September 1978 while serving as assistant logistics officer with the 4th Marine Amphibious Bri- gade. The citation praises Major Stouffer for his organiza- tional techniques as the principal architect for com- bat service support and host nations support during exercise ‘‘Northern Wed- ding/Bold Guard-78,” con ducted in northern Europe. Under his instruction, the detailed requirements for host nations support were completed and were cited by NATO planners and allied national authorities as the most comprehensive plans ever received. He is continuing to serve with the staff of 4th MAB which is embarked aboard the USS Mount Whitney. The Mount Whitney is homeported in Norfolk, Va. Stouffer is a 1962 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, Eliza- bethtown, Pa., and a 1966 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., with a Bachelor of Science degree. 888 Scott Eby Albert, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cox and the late George Albert, received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the South -Texas College of Law, Houston, Texas, at the school’s annual commencement May 13, 1979. While in law school, Mr. Albert was the recipient of the Spurgeon Bell Mock Court Competition Award for Appellate Briefing, the American Jurisprudence A- ward in the fields of evidence and corporation, and a Student Bar Associa- tion Merit Award. He was a member of the school’s Law Journal where one of his articles was recently pub- lished. Additionally, he was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Fraternity. Upon graduation he will be sitting for the Texas bar examination in July. He has accepted employment in the Law Offices of Ray A. Morrison and will concen- trate in the areas of family law, wills and probate, commercial law; and real estate. Mr. Albert formerly resided at 130 New Haven Street, Mount Joy and was a graduate of Donegal High School and the Pennsylvania State University. Donald Brubaker, well known to patrons of the Maytown office of Union National Mount Joy Baik, has been promoted. He will be serving as manager of the bank’s new Salunga office at 190 Siuny Battery Road. He was also named assistant cashier. Mr. Brubaker, who lives at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brubaker, RD7 Manheim, plans to marry in August. His bride will be Marian Whistler of E-town. §§§ Mrs. Alfred W. Moyer, 1707 Marietta Ave., Lan- caster will be 85 years old on May 27. ; Jim Gerberich of Mount Joy won an honorable mention for his photography in statewide journalism competition. He is a staff photographer for the New Era. He formerly was employed by the Susquehanns n imes. “Every meal a holiday” The Marietta Auxiliary is compiling a a cookbook, to be offered for sale next fall. Titled ‘‘Every Meal a Holiday,”” the book will contain recipes donated by Auxiliary members and their friends. The cookbook committee is headed by Mrs. Pat Gilmartin, Mrs. Sylvia Henry, Mrs. Joseph Carroll, and Miss Ruth Wisman. If you have a recipe you would like to contribute to this cookbook, please get in touch with Miss Wisman or Mrs. Henry. The May meeting of the Auxiliary was held at the home of Mrs. Ralph Miller. Kelly Donald Kelly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Kelly RD1, Mount Joy, was presented the Eagle Scout Award, Monday May 14. Don has served in the Troop as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Scribe, Quartermaster, As- sistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster and is currently an Instructor for Nature,Conservation, Envir- omental Science, and sev- eral other Skill Awards. Don served on the Provision Staff for a week as a Patrol Advisor in 1977. In 1978, Don was the Nature/Ecology Director for six weeks. This year for four weeks and three weeks for Cub Day Camp..His. Camp Staff experience was all at the J. Edward Mack Scout Reservation. In 1977 he participated in the US Canadian ‘‘Hands across the Borders’ Camp- O-Ree, the Historical Trails, Council and District Camp- O-Rees along with Troop activities and camping. Don is a Senior at the Donegal High School and will be graduating this June. His course of studies was the Academic Course. He served as the AM Announ- cer for two years and has been involved in the Dramatics Club for three years, the chorus for four years, the band for eight years, (participated in the four band trips in High School), and the Rhythem- Singers for two years. Other interests include geology, environment, elec- tronics, chemistry, building things, and science fiction. Don's Eagle Project was a Community Bulletin Board. For the last month of his Senior year Don is working at G.C. Murphy's learning the .inside operations of Retail Management. Next year Don will be attending Juniata College to major in Marine Biology, and continue to remain as active as possible in Troop #63. The Eagle Ceremony was conducted by Gerald Alle- man, Western District Advancement Chairman. Meszaros to get Legion medal Teresa Meszaros will receive the American Legion Medal of Donegal Legion Post #809, Maytown. This award is based on honor, scholarship, service, citizen- ship, leadership and courage.
