dil Cll March 28, 1979 DID YOU HEAR? Robert Van Hilburn and Alice Faye Hilburn cele- brated their 20th wedding anniversary on March 27th. They live at 12 Pajill Drive, Marietta. March 27th was a Good Friday in the year they were married. The Hilburns moved here in March of 1970 from Pensacola, - Florida, after Robert was transfered by Armstrong to the Marietta Ceiling Plant, where he is a supervisor. They have two sons, Robert Stephen and Rockie Keith Hilburn. Robert’s hobbies are taxidermy, fishing and hunting, in which they share together. Faye enjoys lawn care, gardening, sew- ing and knitting. Airman first class Brian Koser, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy M. Koser of Bainbridge, has arrived for duty at Langley AFB in Virginia. He is an aerospace ground equipment repair- man. He was stationed before in England. §§§ Kirk Wolgemuth of RD1 Mount Joy, a student at Elizabethtown College, won the Musselman Scholarship which will be awarded to him at the annual awards banquet of the college's department of business on April 4th. §§8§ Andy and Nancy Farmer were married on April 2nd. Figures are unavailable for Mount Joy. §8§ Local students attend Yo-Tech conference Last week the 28th annual state DECA (Dis- tributive Education Clubs of America) career develop- ment conference was held at the Host Farm Resort in Lancaster. More than 1400 DECA students from all over the state competed. Local students who at- tended from the Mount Joy Vo-Tech were: Jill Wied- man, E-town High, student government; Kim Legerlotz from Manheim Central for student government; Russ Bradnock, E-town High, for courtesy court; Teresa Husband, Donegal High, general merchandising, master employee level; and Kelly Brandt, E-town High. Stauffer, 17, the son of Dr. and Mrs. John H. Stauffer of 101 No. Barbara Street, Mount Joy, will receive the rank of Eagle Scout this evening. Eagle Scout is scouting’s highest rank. Scott will be awarded it at a Court of Honor ceremony during a scout banquet held at Hostetter’s Banquet Hall. The presentation will be made by Mr. John D. Day, III, Guidance Counselor at Donegal High School and himself an Eagle Scout. Scott’s sister, Selisa, a senior at Elizabethtown College, will be present for the oceasion as well as his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul G. Grabill of Bareville, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Stauffer of Landisville. The Rev. Dr. and Mrs. John D. Long of New Holland will also attend. Scott is a member of the Boy Scouts of -America, Troop #39, Mount Joy, of which he has served as assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, quartermas- ter, scribe, instructor, and junior assistant scout- master. In April he will assume the responsibility of being assistant scout- master. He is also the troop’s bugier. He has participated in the last three Mount Joy Community Memorial Ser- vices as bugler. Scott has attended the J. Edward Mack Scout Reser- vation for three summers. He began his scouting acitvities in 1969 as a cub in Pack 136 of Mount Joy. For his Eagle Service project, Scott planned and organized a free vision . screening for people in the Mount Joy area. Scott is a senior at Donegal High School, where he is enrolled in the academic course. He plays trumpet in the Marching and Concert Bands. He is a member of the Lancaster Church of the Brethren where he is active in the Youth Fellowship. Scott has been accepted at Elizabethtown College He plans to pursue professional career 1 optometry.
