December 6, 1 978 Business and Professional Women hear about welfare fraud Mrs. Dorothy Forney was the guest speaker for the November session of the Mount Joy Business and Professional Women’s meeting. Pennsylvania’’ was the subject of discussion. Forn- ey is the co-founder of the National Welfare Fraud Association and also the Administrative Assistant to Senator Richard Snyder, Harrisburg. Mrs. Forney explained that fraud is caused by poorly trained personnel, errors, Supreme Court de- cisions which affect the welfare system, and by lack ‘““Welfare in of investigation into indivi- dual cases. In the state of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Forney said 33% of the state budget goes for welfare, 52% for education, and the remaining 15% for all other areas. Chiques Volleyball results The results of the Chi- ques Adult Athletic Assoc- iation Co-ed Volleyball League are as follows: On November 19, Colon- ial Inn defeated Three Center Square Inn 15-9, 15-2 and 15-6. Big “L” defeated Fay Sherman’s Restaurant 15-7, 15-6 and 1-15. On December 3, Fay Sherman’s Restaurant de- feated Colonial Inn two out of three games: 15-3, 9-15, 15-5. Second match, Big ““L”’ defeated Three Center Square 15-0, 15-13 and 15-19. In the first game the Bullets beat the Lakers 80- 74. The top scorer for the Bullets were Joe Hemerly and Jeff Shank (24). The top scorer for the Lakers was Jeff Frey with 26 points. Sonics beat the Jazz during the second game 83-76. The top scorer for Sonics was Bill Moyer with 37 points. Jack Dettinger was top scorer for Jazz with 48 points. On November 30 Sonics defeated Lakers 67-62 at Beahm Jr. High School. The top scorer for Sonics was Bill Moyer , 19 points. For the lakers, Jeff Frey had 32 points. During the second game, Jazz defeated the Bullets 80-64. Jim Yeaglin of Jazz had 30 points while Joe Hemerly was top scorer for Bullets with 22 points.
