Benefit luncheon planned
At the November meet-
ing of the Marrietta Auxili-
ary to the Columbia Hos-
pital, plans were completed
for a Holiday Benefit
Luncheon to be held Mon-
day, December 4, at 12:30
P.M., at the home of Mrs.
Mary Sarver, Rheems. The
meeting was held at the
home of Mrs. Sylvia Henry
with Miss Ruth Wisman as
co-hostess.
The luncheon will have a
mouth watering menu of
Oyster Bisque, Irish Cof-
fee, Velvet Fruit Salad,
Christmas Cookies, etc. A
recipe exchange for a
cookie tasting event and
holiday goodies and novel-
ties will be offered for sale.
Members have tickets for
chances on a holiday cheer
basket of goodies to be
awarded to a lucky winner.
Mrs. Joe Carroll presid-
ed at the business session
when Mrs. William Heisey
opened the meeting with
readings entitled ‘‘Novem-

pinocle party benefit, re-
ported a profit of $147.80.
A memorial was sent to the
Columbia Hospital in
memory of Mrs. Elizabeth
McKain.
Present was Doris Mor-
row, from Donegal, Ire-
land, who expressed her
pleasure being in America.
She explained the revolu-
tion in her home country is
only 20 miles from her
home. Ms. Morrow related
incidents happening in Ire-
land, which have been
going on for centuries
without an end in sight.
She stated attacks on
various structures are done
to call attention to the
cause, which to some
Irishmen seems pointless.
