S. Armed Services, the Done- gal High School Dramatics Club again this year is coordinating the annual Veterans’ Day observance, y to be held on Saturday evening, November 11, at 7:30 PM in the Donegal High School auditorium. This patriotic tribute is open to the public and ' there is no admission fee. Donegal’s annual Veter- ans’ Day observance has become a major event in the school year. Over 200 students of the Performing and Creative Arts Depart- ment (Band, Chorus, Dra- matics Club, and Art Majors) are directly involv- ed in this special tribute to the men and women of the Armed Forces. Within the past year, the program has been cited by the U. S. Navy, the American Le- gion, the United Veterans’ Council, and in June, the school was awarded a special citation for the 1977 Veterans’ Day tribute by the Pennsylvania AMVETS at its state convention in Camp Hill. The Veterans’ Day pro- gram consists entirely of patriotic music, dance, and drama. A special feature of the 1978 performance is a play entitled ‘‘Fate’s Threshold’’, written speci- fically for this year’s observance by Miss Sharon Cox, a member of the Dramatics Club. Music for Alumni the occasion will be provid- ed by the Band, Chorus, and Rhythm Singers. Monologues relating the history of each of the five branches of the Armed Services will be presented by members of the Drama- tics Club. Among numer- ous other special features ‘of the program will be a re-encactment of the Get- tysburg Address, with Kirk Billet portraying Abraham Lincoln. Moderator for the 1978 Veterans’ Day ob- servance is Dramatics Club President James Landis. Military veterans of the community in attendance at the Saturday evening per- formance will be recogniz- ed. Platform guests will include military recruiters from Lancaster County, commanders and repre- sentatives of Donegal-area veterans’ organizations, and career (20 years or more) veterans of the Armed Services. In addition to the Satur- day evening program, a special Veterans’ Day as- sembly will be held on Friday morning, November 10, for Donegan High School students. Con- gressman Robert Walker will be a featured guest for this assembly. The Donegal High School Dramatics Club extends a cordial invitation to all members of our communi- ties and their friends to attend the free public tribute to Veterans on Saturday evening, Novem- ber 11. Basketball Game The Donegal High School Basketball Booster Club has announced the date of their second annual Alumni Basketball Game. The game has been scheduled for Saturday, November 23. Game time will be 7:00 PM. The game will be played in the Donegal High School gym. During the game there will be a bake sale, and between games there will be a door drawing. Admission will be $1.50 for adults, $.75 for stu- dents. Proceeds will benefit the Booster Club.
