Franciscans fill in for Father Michael Two Franciscan priests— Father Callistus Juras and Father Victor Maksimewicz —will serve as the pastors of local Catholic churches while Father Michael is away. Both will live at 349 E. Market Street, Marietta. Father Juras, who will be the pastor of the Presenta- tion BVM church of Mari- etta, was born on October 14, 1926 in Baltimore. He earned a B.A. at St. Bonaventure University in New York, and has done post-graduate work at Can- isius College and Catholic University. He was a high school teacher in Lackawanna, New York, for 10 years and in Bridgeport, Connecticut, for 8 years. He has been an assistant at St. Stephen Church in Shamokin for the last two years. Father Maksimewicz is a native of Scranton. He earned his B.A. at the same university that Father Juras did. He attended Assumption College and the University of Madrid, Spain, for postgraduate work. He was ordained in 1954 and served as pastor of St. Michael's Church in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He taught at high schools in Buffalo and Athel Springs, New York, for 13 years. He was associate pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Athel Springs for three years before coming here.
