Lescallette will be ordained at a special service in Lebanon on August 13, and he will conduct his first commun- ion service on August 20. Rev. Lescallette is a graduate of Central Dau- phin East High School and Dickinson College, where he studied political science and German. He spent his junior year at the Johns Hopkins Institute for Inter- national studies in Bologna, Italy. After graduating from college in 1970, Rev. Lescallette joined the Air Force and was stationed at Andrews Air Base in Washington, DC. He later attended Gettysburg Se- minary for two years, and spent a third year as assistant pastor at Salem Lutheran Church in Leb- anon. He received his Master's of Divinity degree this vear. He will be ordained by Rev. Ronald E. Pierson, the former pastor of St. John’s, and Dr. Howard McCarney, president of the Central Pennsylvania Synod. Lou Ann Snyder weds Robert M, Gehman Lou Ann Snyder ex- changed wedding vows with Robert M. Gehman on Saturday at Erisman's Mennonite Church, Man- heim, with the Rev. An- drew G. Miller officiating. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Glenn M. Snyder, Mount Joy R3, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Gehman, Mohnton R3. Maid of honor was Julia Snyder, Mount Joy R3, sister of the bride. Brides- maids were Marian Good, Denver R3, sister of the bridegroom, and Florence Gehman, Mohnton R3, sis- ter of the bridegroom. John K. Williams, Mount Joy Rl, was best man. Ushers were Nelson E. Church field trip The Mennonite Historical Associates are planning a field trip on Sept. 16 in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Brethren in Christ Church. Among the sites which will be visited on the tour are; the home and grave- site of Ulrich Engle, father of Jacob Engle, who founded the church; the later home and burial site of Jacob Engle; the early Engle log house with movable doors and closets where services were held in the days before meeting- houses; the traditional First Brethren in Christ baptis- mal site; the site where the first historic excommunica- tion meeting was held with Matthias Brinser, founder of United Zion’s Children; Brinser’s home and burial place; Kraybill Mennonite School; Conoy Indiantown; Peter’s Road; Donegal Presbyterian Church and Witness Tree; and the Haldeman Mansion. A family-style meal will be served at the Rheems Fire Company Head- quarters. : Cost for the tour is $8.00 for each MHA member and $9.00 for non-members. Buses will leave Lancaster Mennonite High School promptly at 12 noon for this trip, guided by Elmer F. Kennel, Martin E. Ressler, and Simon P. Kraybill. In VISTA.
