July 5, 1978 BPW meets The Mount Joy Business and Professional Women's Club installed new officers for the 1978-9 term at a recent meeting. They were installed by Ms. Naomi Myers, District 7 director and a member of the Columbia BPW. Those elected are: Mrs. Yvonne Koser, president; Mrs. Barry Enos, 1st vice president; Mrs. Banks Obituaries TOBIAS H. Tobias H. Siegrist, 72, of Mount Joy R2, died unexpectedly at his home early Sunday morning. He retired from Musser Potato Chip Factory, Mountville, after 17 years of service. He served in World War Il in the Army and was a member of Mount Joy American Legion Post 18S. He also belonged to the Marietta Beneficial Assoc- iation, Marietta, and Sus- quehanna Beneficial and Social Association, Mar- ietta. Wagner, 2nd vice presi- dent; Mrs. William Lam- bert, recording secretary; Mary Jane Hoffer, corres- ponding secretary; and Mrs. Kenneth Shearer, treasurer. All were incum- bents. President Koser intro- duced the DHS Girl of the Month, Kathi Shelly, and her mother, Mrs. Herbert Shelly of Maytown. SIEGRIST Born in West Hempfield Township, he was a son of the late Isaac S. and Martha Harnish Siegrist. Surviving are these bro- thers and sisters: Rebecca H. Sheetz, Lancaster; Isaac H. and Norman H. Siegrist, both of Columbia R2; John H. and Harry H. Siegrist, both of Columbia RI; Dorothy H., wife of Charles Myers, Salunga; Bertha H., wife of Givis Winters, Mount Joy R3, with whom he resided; Grace H., wife of Benjamin Nissley, Lan- caster, and Roy H. Siegrist, Mount Joy R3. GERALD R. NEALE Gerald R. Neale, 357, formerly of Bainbridge RI and Marietta, died Sunday at 1:20 PM at the Heatherbank Convalescent Center in Columbia, after an illness of four months. He was the husband of Fannie Lois Frey Neale. Born in Marietta and a lifelong resident of the area, Neale was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Markley Neale. He had been employed as a produce salesman by the Earl Rutherford Pro- duce Co. of Bainbridge. He was a member of the Hummelstown American Legion Post 265 and he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S.Army. Surviving in addition to his wife is his sister, Josephine, wife of Donald W. Long, of Mount Joy. SYLVESTER G. EPLER Sylvester G. Epler, 67, of 721 Wood St., Mount Joy, died unexpectedly at 4:45 AM Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Lucille Braun Epler. Born in Conoy Township, he was the son of the late John H. and Laura Grove Epler He retired in 1975S from Musser’s Potato Chips Inc., Mountville. Previously he had worked for 30 years at the Mount Joy Paper Box _ Co. as a truck driver. He was a member of Glossbrenner United Meth- odist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Carole J., Eliza- bethtown R1; two ‘sons, Wesley G., Annville R2, and Douglas K., Lititz; seven grandchildren; one brother, John E., Eliza- bethtown R4; and one sister, Mrs. Ethel M. The Mount Joy club was recognized for its candlelight tour, which was named the best feature of a club. The next candlelight tour will be on November 19th.
