Action at the Horse Show The Horse Show Horse show 2 of 28 prizes went to local people at the Marietta Lions Club annual Horse Show last Sunday. Beth Smaling of Colum- bia won the scurry race with her horse, Little Leo Reed, ridden by Brian McCall. The pleasure pony driv- ing prize went to Waco Hee Bill, owned and ridden by Dorothy Lindemuth, Mount Joy. The adult performance championship and the reserve championship both were won by horses belonging to Glick’s Trailer Shop, Bareville. Ji Glick rode them. Brian Erhart Brian Erhart of Landis- ville recently was recogniz- ed for outstanding work at the DeVry Institute of Technology at Phoenix, Arizona. During his first 10 months of electronics tech- nician training there, Bryan maintained perfect grades. Bryan graduated from Hempfield High School with the best industrial arts grade average of all time there. Chiques League announces summer program President of the Chiques Adult Athletic Association, Michael Lippold, an- nounces a new program for this summer. It will be a co-ed volleyball league which will start Wednes- day, June 7 at the Marietta War Memorial Park. The association got permission to use the basketball court from the Borough Council. Permament poles and boundary lines will be put down with the association paying the full cost. For this season the league would like to have six teams participate, playing three matches in a night. The first meeting will be held on Sunday, May 14 at 2:00PM at the Marietta Community House, 264 West Market Street. Teams are asked to have a repre- sentative present. For those persons not on a team, the league will try to get enough players to form a team. The cost is $4.00 per person. Individual trophies will be awarded to the league champions. The league is open to all persons living within a 10-mile driving distance of the Marietta Borough.
