May 3, 1978 Elaine Holden is president of board of Historic Preservation Trust Elaine Holden of Mount Joy RD1 was recently elected to president of the board of the Historic Preservation Trust of Lan- caster County. She is well known in the community for her avid interest in architecture and historic preservation. Ms. Holden, who calls herself ‘‘a concerned Cciti- zen,’ was formerly the chairwoman of the Rock Ford Foundation. In regard to her new job, she said, ‘‘The Trust expects to work closely with members of the business community, gov- ernment agencies, county preservation organizations, and interested citizens. “Through this coopera- tive effort, 1 see no reason why the Historic Preserva- tion Trust can’t be as successful as Historic Charleston or Historic Savannah, two outstanding preservation organiza- tions.”’ She succeeds John W. Aungst, Jr., as board president. Ms. Holden is a new member on the board, along with several others (including Ken Ross of Marietta) who were added in a move to expand the board to 30 members. She has restored two old houses herself, both in Mount Joy. CONGRESSMAN HILL A RecoRrD OF Day, Pekarek, and Runkle will attend Keystone Boys’ State W.S.
