Poem by Chester Wittell Thou whom the scripture names of rod divine Who stripped the nimbus from the tyrant-head Of false authority, and from the dead Raised hope to light the gloom of faith’s decline- Who spake amid the olive and the vine, And wrought miracle of fish and bread, And by the power of faith inspirited, Changed hate to love and water into wine: Why did’st Thou pledge a second coming? Nay, Revoke the promise; Let the spirit sleep. Not now Thy face show unto man, I pray; Lest Thou in sadness look to see how we, Who vowed unceasing vigil there to keep, Have wracked the Garden of Gethsemane. - SUSQUEHANNA TIMES — Page 3 Mount Joy Lions host ladies at meeting The ladies were guests of the Mount Joy Lions Club at its Tuesday, April 4th meeting at Hostetter’s Dining Hall.
