Henry ‘“The Fonz’’ Winkler and ex-flying nun Sally Field, now Burt Reynold’s latest compan- ion. Approximately 29 min- utes into the film, Mr. Winkler shows the post- card, with a picture of an Amish family riding in a ‘wagon, to Ms. Field. The card receives ‘‘prominent attention’’ at this point, according to the Tourist Bureau. Amateur examines postcard According to the Bu- reau’s press release, ‘““Winkler describes the Amish people as a ‘Typical | Pennsylvania Family,’ he sniffs the card for a whiff of clean Pennsylvania Dutch Country air, and points to the card in a close up shot.” This star of post cards was supplied two years ago to Universal Studios by Marshall Dussinger of Mount Joy. Mr. Dussinger is the General Manager of Lancaster’s StelMar Com- pany, whose main business is Pennsylvania Dutch and Amish post cards. tax experts needed Are you a budding accountant? VITA stands for Volun- teer Income Tax Assistance program, which helps el- derly and low-income people fill out those confusing tax forms. The program was formulated by IRS, and is sponsored by Lutheran Social Services. Last year VITA volun- teers assisted 458 persons in the county, Most of the 1,024 forms filed were short forms (1040A’s). United Way does well; will give $1500 to Mount Joy emergency services This year 23 human service agencies affiliated with the United Way of Lancaster County will re- ceive allocations totalling $2,357,662, an all-time high. The allocations were decided by an all-volunteer committee, which put in more than 2000 man-hours of work figuring out the most effective use of funds available. Among the groups re- ceiving funding is the Mount Joy emergency associations. They will get $1,500.
