Joe Coover
Joe Coover is DHS boy of month
Donegal High’s Boy of
the Month for December is
Joe Coover, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph E. Coover of
134 No. High Street,
Mount Joy.
Joe is active both in and
out of school. He plans to
attend a trade school upon
graduation, preferably
Stevens Trade, to study
carpentry.
At DHS, Joe’s activities
are as follows: tennis 10;
senior class play; and many
musical activities. He has
been in the band since 8th
grade, and was band
president this year. Last
year he was in the County
Band. He played in the
orchestra for Brigadoon
and Mirth of a Nation, and
was in the stage band the
last two years.
Joe was listed in Who's
Who among American
Students.
Outside the school halls,
he is an usher at St.
Mark’s U.M. Church and is
in the Youth Fellowship; is
a member of Scout Troop
#39, and recently earned an
Eagle award and became
an assistant scout master
(also member of Order of
the Arrow); he received the
God and Country award in
1976; and is a member of
the National Rifle Assoc.

team. He likes to camp and
hike.
Joe has worked as a life
saving instructor at the
Mack scout reservation,
and mowed lawns at
Harvestview apartments.
He is now employed by
Engle Printing Co.
