Class Reunion 1952

The Mount Joy class of
1952 held their 25th
reunion Saturday, Oct. 15
at Indian Springs in
Landisville. Miss Catherine
Zeller and Mr. and Mrs.
John D. Day were guests of
the 37 class members and
their mates.
Following dinner, each
class member shared a
memorable moment from
his high school years.
Robert ‘Sherk, Master of
Ceremonies, handed out
the following prizes; Mary
Ann Spangler Wright
travelled the farthest (280
miles); Marion Oberholtzer
Risser travelled the least
(just across the road); Jay
Brooks was most recent
newlywed (1971) and had
the youngest child (3
year-old twins) — he had
also changed the least;
Donald Thome had
changed the most, and had
the most formal education
(D.0O., Chairman of the
Dept. of Ophthalmology at
Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine);
Paul Fitzkee had the most
grandchildren (5S) and the
oldest grandchild (aged
5%); Lena Loewen Miller
had changed the least;

faculty member, reported
the results of a question-
naire she sent to DHS
CIVIC graduates. The re-
sponse indicated that form-
er students feel that they
would have benefited from
more training in proofread-
ing and telephone practice.
They also felt that more
computer experience would
have been helpful; it was
noted that DHS is now
offering a new data
processing course - using a
computer terminal for an
Elizabethtown College com-
puter. Former students
felt, also, that it would be a
good idea to have more
preparation for ‘‘office per-
sonality relationships.”’
The benefits and prob-
lems of the Career Elective
Program for seniors were
discussed from the point of
view of both the school and
participating businesses.

head the committee for the
next class reunion party to
be held in 1982.

Well child clinic
Well Child Clinic will be
held Tuesday and Thursday
Nov. 15 and 17 from 9-11
AM at the Community
Building in Marietta. Im-
munizations, physical ex-
aminations, and parent
counseling are all available
at the Well Child Clinics.
At the same place (that’s
258 W. Market) from 11:00
to noon, public health
nurses will test your blood
pressure.
Remember, that’s Tues-
day, Nov. 15th and Thurs-
day, Nov. 17th.
