iv May 18, 1977 Maytown Fire Co. meets The Maytown Fire Co., recently held their May | meeting with Pres. Robert Herr preciding. Asst. Chief Larry Henderson reported 2 emergency fire calls for the month. The Co. ambulance re- sponded on 9 calls. Attn. David Greer was present to establish the Constitution and By-Laws for the newly’ formed Ambulance Associ- ation, now to be known as Maytown-East Donegal Area Ambulance Asso. Members will serve as officers and directors. Pres- ident-Robert J. Herr; trea- surer-Larry V. Warfel, and secretary-Charles E. Shaff- ner. Associate Directors will be Edgar W. Mayers and Irvin B. Ney. Any area resident, who would like to join the newly formed organization, please contact any officer or member of the Fire Co., or the Ambulance Association. Any Fire Co. Member, who would like to attend a training session at Lancas- ter County Fire School, please contact fire chief, Charlie Johns for pre-reg- istration. It was announced the Fire Co., will continue the Saturday Bingo Nights until Memorial Day. May 28th will be the final night for the current season, with special cash prizes to players holding weekly tickets. Winners will be drawn at intermission. Players must be present to win. May 30th, Memorial day, will be the first Fire Co. carnival of the summer. Everyone is invited for a fun filled evening of games food, rides, and entertain- ment by the ‘‘Southern Travelers.” Admission will be free. Plenty of free parking. Activities to - get underway at the conclusion of the Memorial Day Par- ade in Maytown. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Maytown Fire Co., are in need of donations of eggs, corn, and baked goods for the Memorial Day Carnival. Anyone wishing to contribute, please call 426-3464 after 3 P.M. Friendship Fire Co. frees youth from wreck A Columbia teenager sustained possible injuries Thursday noon, May §, when he upset his pickup truck on Kinderhook Road in Drytown. Michael Diffenderfetr, 17 of 1505 Manor St., Colum- bia lost control and upset his pickup truck on its roof after passing 2 school MAY SPECIAL busses. He was pinned in the wreckage for approxia- metly for 20 minutes before rescuers from Mount Joy Friendship Fire Co. freed him with the aid of the Hurst Tool also known as the ‘Jaws of Life.”” The Mount Joy ambulance transported him to St. Joseph Hospital.
