Mrs. Schwert’s fifth
grade class at Riverview
hosted and .Easter party on
Thursday, April 7. Mrs.
Fox’s IU13 students were
the guests.
The party was held to
help fifth graders gain a
better understanding of
how mentally retarded
people are different and
alike everyone else. Mrs.
Fox spoke to Mrs. Shwert’s
class about mental retard-
ation prior to the party.
At the party, each child
from Mrs. Fox’s class was
greeted at the door by one
of Mrs. Schwert’s students.
Mrs. Schwert’s students
introduced themselves and
then led their new friends
on a hunt to find baskets
filled with goodies.
The baskets were made
by the fifth graders. Sev-
eral students decorated the
eggs.
