MYO meets The MYO has elected its new officers at the March 31st meeting. They are as follows: John Leas-Presi- dent; Jim Embly-Vice Pres- ident; Jay Hoover-Treasur- er; and Patsy Crist-Secret- ary. This is also to advise that coaches will be contacting their teams soon to begin practice. All parents are urged to support their children by attending the games and participating in the MYO Program. Jaycees, Joycee-ettes On Saturday evening the Mount Joy Jaycees and Joycee-ettes held their in- stallation and award ban- quet at the Sherwood Knoll in Centerville. The newly-elected presi- dents, James Wetzel and Mrs. Thomas Meckley were given their oath of office by past presidents Gerald Nolt and Mrs. James Gingrich. Other officers were instal- led by the newly-elect presidents as follows: Jay- cee Officers: Vice-presi- dent-Robert Stone and Robert Hoffer; Secretary- Robert Behling; Treasurer- Keith Smith; Directors- Scott Brightbill, Gary Gray- bill, and Rich Rossman; State Director-Jeff Brown and past president Gerald Nolt. Joycee-ettes officers in- stalled were: Vice Presi- dent-Mrs. James Wetzel; Secretary-Mrs. Butch Mc- Curdy; Treasurer-Mrs. Wil- liam Bower; Directors-Mrs. Barry Funk; Editor-Mrs. Robert Hoffer and past President, Mrs. James Gin- grich; Historian-Mrs. Nel- son Thomas and Messiah Home Chairman-Mrs. Ro: bert Stoner. The Jaycees awarded the Outstanding Jaycee of the Year to Robert Stoner. They also presented the Exhausted Rooster Award to the following: Patrick Moran, John Harnish, and Steven Getty. The Joycee-ettes award- ed the Outstanding Joycee- ette Award to Mrs. Thomas Meckley. The following awards were also presented for the Outstanding Co- Chairman, Mrs. William Bower and Mrs. James Wetzel; Outstanding Board Member, Mrs. William Bower; Outstanding New Member, Mrs. Robert Stoner; Service to the Club, Mrs. Barry Funk; Special Recognition, Mrs. John Harnish and Mrs. Nelson Thomas; and a Hang-in- there Award to Mrs. Pat- rick Moran. Patrick The National Honor Society inducts 17 at DHS ceremony Last Thursday seventeen students were inducted into the National Honor Society at Donegal High. Chairman Phil Good and Historian Cynthia Charles spoke. Jacob Sherk spoke on scholarship, Randall McCoy on service, Greg Lindemuth on leadership, and Joan de Vitry on character. Phyllis Shope called the roll of new members, and Michael McMullen welcomed them to the Society. Eileen Penyak spoke on behalf of the new members. Photo shows, left to right: Don Drenner, R.F. Mr. Longo is an attorney from Lancaster and a former assistant D.A. He was once drafted by the Houston Oilers, but decid- ed on law when he didn’t make it as a pro football player. Following the ceremony a reception was held for the members, faculty, and guests. Tea was served by Mrs. Sadie Brooks, coor- dinator of DHS nurses, Mrs. Mimi Peraro of the foreign language depart- ment, and by Miss Kathy Wiler of the home econo- mics department.
