Walnut Street, Marietta, recently retired from his job as an elec- trician with Watt and Shand, Lancaster. During his 20 years with the department store he looked forward to his retirement. Now, after being free of scheduled labor for four months, he isn’t sure if he is enjoying the extra tima. Looking forward to spring, Tom plans to care for his yard, paint his house, and perform the millions of chores that pile up over a lifetime of keeping busy. A World War II veteran, Moran served in both theatres of the conflict. When Germany surrender- ed, he was sent to Manilla, where he enjoyed the sight-seeing. He was dis- charged with the rank of * sargeant after 22 months of duty. He and his wife Vivian have three children, eight grandchildren, and also two great-grandchildren. ‘““When they all get together, things really hum,” he chuckles. As a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Church, Mar- ietta, Tom assists with parish chores as they come up. He is also a member of the Holy Name Society. Moran is the son of the late Thomas and Kathryn McGonigle Moran. Local sailor stationed in sunny Florida Navy Cryptologic Tech- nician Third Class William E. Blantz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cletes W.
