The Communtiy Devel- opment Program is a Fed- eral grant being imple- mented under the Housing and Community Develop- ment Act of 1974. The primary objective of the Program, as stated in the Act, is the ‘‘development of viable unban communit- ies, including decent hous- ing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.”’ The specifice activities for which “grahts ‘may ‘be ob- tained cover a broad range, including such diverse areas as housing, utilities, community facilities, his- toric preservation, and human services. The agenda for the above meetings will include an ‘explanation of the Com- munity Development Pro- gram, a status report on the projects fund under the first two years of the Program, discussion of the procedure for local munici- palities and organizations to apply for funds, and a review of the process by which the County will decide which projects will be included in its applica- tion for 1977-1978.
