December 1, 1976 How to meet Santa Santa Claus will appear in Mount Joy next weekend outside Hostetter’s at Main and Barbara Streets. On Friday, Santa will be available from 6:30-9:00 p.m.. On Saturday, he will visit us from 10-noon and from 1-3 p.m.. Mt. Joy Jaycees sell mugs The Mount Joy Jaycees have obtained a limited edition of 185 mugs. Profits from the sale will be used for community projects. Grade school basketball program Students in grades four, five and six of the Donegal School District are eligible to register Saturday, De- cember 4, 1976, at 12:30 p.m. for the grade school basketball program provi- ded each year by the district. The program will run each Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Beahm Jr. High School. Immediately following re- gistration at the junior high there will be a practice session. All that is required is sneakers and an interest in basketball. DID YOU HEAR... A.I.C. Paul Ackerley was promoted to E.4 Senior Airman in a below the zone promotion. IGA butchers make Wild West display The butchers and meat-packers at of em s IGA in Mount Joy created a scene from the Old West two weeks ago. To help promote the store’s ‘‘beef round-up’ of bargin priced meats, the butchers built a jail and a display of frontier weapons. The ‘‘cowgirl’’ in the photo above is actually a mannequin. This week, she is a pilgrim. Host Corral gives $$ to Messiah Home In the spirit of the season, Host Corral and Host Town, Lancaster, have made donations to charitable organizations in the County. The Messiah Children’s Home, a Brethern in Christ affiliated facility in Mount Joy, was the recipient of $4,500 worth of frozen food donated by the Lancaster Food Plant. Larry Greene, General Manager of the Host Corral and the Lan- caster Food Plant, a cen- tralized food preparation operation for the four Host properties said, ‘“The food items were no longer in use on Host menus; all the food donated was excellent,’’ Greene added, ‘‘We are happy to be able to contribute these food items especially - during Thanks- giving holiday season.” The Big Brothers of Lancaster and their guests were the guests of the Host Town for a Thanksgiving feast, Thursday, November 25. The 2S diners were able to work off the turkey on the Host Town skating rink, bike trail or indoor swimming pool. Jack Han- el, General Manager said, “The Big Brothers Thanks- giving dinner is a tradition at the Host Town that we look forward to each year.” Cop warns Santa about Maytown law Chief George R. Shirk of the East Donegal Township Police Force would like to remind parents of an or- dinance relating to B-B guns. These guns are illegal in East Donegal Township. Anyone causing any vandalism with B-B guns will be prosecuted and the guns will be confiscated. Scout leaders graduate The University of Scout- ing for the Western Dis- trict, Lancaster-Lebanon Council, Boy Scouts of America held a graduation ceremony on November 20, 1976. The ceremony held in Blair Lodge at Camp J. Edward Mack, was the culmination of an intensive training course covering all phases of Scouting leader- ship. Leaders receiving Bachelors of Scouting Arts were: Chris Strickler and -Don Horton of Bainbridge, and Ed Emery, Bob Ging- rich and Jerry Dochterman of Elizabethtown.
