It was the Indians’ first shut-out in 2 years. Don- egal gained 478 yards in the contest. The team hasn’t done that well in terms of yardage for at least S years. Kevin Bradley’s passing accounted for 187 of those yards. A 45 yard pass to Pete Splain put Donegal on the scoreboard in the first quarter. A 70-yard pass to Bill Gainer also resulted in a touchdown. Other touchdowns were scored by; Bradley (one yard dive), Houseal (11 yard run), Splain ( 2 yard run), and Noll (22 yard run). Al Newlin led the Indians on the ground with 138 yards. Split end Bill Gainer gained 122 yards on pass receptions. The best year on record for the team (until this year) was 1972, when the football team scored 2S touchdowns. Since Donegal began playing varsity football 21 years ago, the school has enjoyed only 4 winning seasons. This year’s team is the best on record. The boys have already won 7 games (the old record was 6), and they have an excellent chance of winning the next two.
