Five very active local persons ex- plained the functions of the agencies they represented. Mrs. John Brown, Mari- etta, spoke of her activities at the Lancaster County Blind Association. Mrs. Herbert Sarver, R.D. #1, Mount Joy, explained the procedure of the Meals on Wheels program. Mrs. Walter Sloan, Donegal Heights, related the impor- tance of ‘‘Contact’’. Dennis Fackler, Rheems, pointed out the need for firemen. The Rev. Dennis Hall, Maytown, described the workings of the Emergency Medical Services. All of the above volunteers, who themselves are involved in many activities of the community, urged everyone present to give freely of their time as volunteers. Pack 136 hikes Appalacian trail Pack 136 Mount Joy Cub Scouts took a hike on the Appalachian Trail starting at Duncannon, PA under the leadership of Robert Mark, William R.
