76 ‘October 6, 1976 Two local beauties win J ane Youtz Jane Youtz of Marietta was 3d runner-up in the Miss Lancaster County Pageant held at Ephrata High recently. Jane, a college freshman, performed a dramatic monologue in the talent competition. Jane is a DHS grad. She was active in the drama club at Donegal as an actress and writer. Mrs. Penn Glazier, De- mocratic party representa- tive and a visiting professor from Franklin and Marshall College and Mrs. June Honaman, republican cand- idate for the PA Senate, presented their platforms for '76 at the Mount Joy Business and Professional Women’s Club at the regular monthly meeting at Hostetters Banquet Hall, Mount Joy. The chairperson of the Legislative committee, Mrs. Patrick Crankshaw, introduced the speakers. Members of the legislative committee are Mary Sar- ver, Mary Sheetz, Anna Mae Eby, Elsie Lefever, Elaine Richards, Olga Cas- avant, and Margaret Spangler. Miss Sandra Heisey pre- sented a vocal medley of patriotic songs and was accompanied by Mrs. George Broske. Mrs. John Fry, presi- dent, conducted the busi- ness section. The resigna- tion of the second vice president, Mrs. Albert Whalen was accepted. Mrs. James Evans was appoint- ed to fill this vacancy. Mrs. Balsbaugh, chair- person of the nominating committee, reported that an invitation to the Eliza- bethtown BPW Club’s SO0th Anniversary meeting has been issued. National Business Women’s Week will be October 17 to 23 and each member received a mum corsage from the Public relations chairper- son, Alice Nissley, to be worn that week as a promotion of NBWW. Mrs. Ed Brown and Mrs. Herbert Sarver volunteered to co-chair the senior citi- zens Christmas committee. Members assisting them will be Mrs. John Wea- land, Miss Ester Walters, Mrs. Lester Roberts, and Miss Elsie Lefever. A report on the Candle- light tour was presented by Mrs. Earl Koser. Three delegates and three altern- ates were elected to the Fall District Convention to be held at Hershey Con- vention Center, October 16 and 17. Delegates are Mrs. Earl Koser, Mrs. John Fry, and Mrs. James Evans.
