Girls were chosen by team- mates and or coaches to be representatives. Players from Farm Diner, Chiques and Elizabethtown Mer- chants were coached by Harrison Koser. They opposed the all stars from Marietta, Mount Joy, and Chapman’s Apparel coach- ed by Winnie Bensinger. The score was 10-8 in favor of the latter team. The visitors, E-Town, Farm Diner, and Chiques, scored in the first inning with hits by Sylvia Sump- man and Joan Shelly. In the third inning, hits by Dottie Kraft, Sylvia Sump- man, and Joan Shelly carried the visitors to a three run lead. Visitors added three insurance runs and in the fifth inning the home team combined for two runs, making the score 7-2. In the bottom of the seventh, hits by Butch Kolp, Nancy Jo Greena- walt, Vickie Greiner, Terri Taylor, Kathy Lewis, and Carol McKain tied the score 8-8. Two more runs were added in the eighth inning to make the home team of Marietta, Mount Joy, and Chapman’s Apparel victorious. During the game trophies were presented to the coaches of the first, second, and third place winners of the league: Winnie Bensinger, Mari- etta got the 1st place trophy; Harrison Koser and Walt Gallager of Farm Diner and Mount Joy received second and third place trophies. Marietta Youth Af Association wards participated in the su baseball program. League MYAA jackets. The cl ionship winning jt midget team also re jackets.
